Robert Carey (died 1587)
Robert Carey (ca. 1515-1587), was an English Member of Parliament.
He was a younger son of Robert Carey of Clovelly and Cockington, Devon and educated in the law at the Middle Temple.
He sat on the Devon bench from 1547 to his death as a Justice of the Peace and was appointed High Sheriff of Devon for 1555–56. He was elected a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Barnstaple in October 1553 and was the Recorder for Barnstaple after 1560.
He married Margaret, the daughter of a Mr. Milleton, and the widow of John Gifford of Yeo, Devon,with whom he had 6 sons and 3 daughters.
